Debbie’s weight gain didn’t happen overnight. It happened slowly due to the onset of menopause and becoming a caregiver, which made it hard for her to find time to exercise.

Wanting to make a change in her life, Debbie tried a few well-known diets, including keto, but the weight didn’t fall away. It was then she read about the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet.

"Before the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, I ate without worrying what I should be eating as life was getting in the way and I put myself last. I hated myself, I hated what I had become and felt so uncomfortable. I didn’t take full photos of myself as I didn’t want to see myself, it had taken my confidence away."

“I was frustrated, angry with myself and had no self-confidence or self-esteem. Nothing I wore made me feel good, in fact, I hated all my clothes.”

The CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet difference

Right away the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet appealed to her as it didn’t cut out food groups and had been designed and researched by the CSIRO.

“I read about the 12 week online program and I liked the way it was structured with eating from all the food units, a good amount of healthy fats and the high protein.  I thought it would suit my age well.”

“With prior diets, they were stringent with not much food, especially over all the food units. For example, the protein was lower, fats were lower, dairy was lower. But the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet was so satisfying. The meals were bigger, and more filling and the recipes worked!”

Starting strong & staying strong

After following the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet, Debbie lost 13 kg*, hit her goal weight and received a refund. She rediscovered her love of exercise and is now doing Zumba classes two to three times a week.

* In 5 months. Individual results may vary.

Debbie credits the program’s Start Strong Interactive Guide and online support group for helping her get to where she is today.

“After reading the program guide and the first week tutorial, I felt positive that I could do it, it made me feel ready to go, ready to move on this journey with a fresh start in life."

"The website helped with loads of options to change meal plans and it was easy to use and track. The recipes are great and give you so much variety. It made me feel positive the whole time. I also used the exercises that were provided with the resistance bands in the privacy of my home which made it easier and convenient."

"Being able to have support as well on the Facebook member group was awesome. I felt great throughout my whole weight loss journey. I felt confident and positive because I was seeing results every week and seeing the photos and measurements inspired me to keep going.”

Now, Debbie is focused on staying healthy, dressing up and enjoying life with confidence!

“I absolutely love the way I eat now. There is so much fresh produce and good clean eating without feeling like I’m missing out. I can easily follow the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet guidelines forever because the amount of food I’m allowed to eat is extremely satisfying.”
